There was a snow storm during this event, but despite this, the event was well attended and everybody who attended, seemed to enjoy the day. I didn't get any pics of the crowd during the busy times (we were up to neck in ice, bloodies, garnishes and chasers).
We premixed everything and served in a modified bucket with a stainless steel ball valve attached. It flowed very well. It takes a village (to make the garnish). Around 600 garnishes were made. I think everybody on staff had helped at some point. It consisted of a beef stick and pickle and cheese curd on a skewer then beer-battered and deep fat fried. The photo shows the garnishes before frying. People seemed to dig it.
Ryan Timm with Miss Mary's (Morning Elixir bloody mary mix) was the mastermind behind the event and the other participating places were Newport Shores, Sir James and Schooners.
We already have ideas for next years event on how to make it better and run more smoothly. Based on the 500 pre-sold tickets this year, we think people want the event to be even bigger next year. Until then. Prost!
